Our PTAB AIA Team

Our PTAB AIA Team

Our AIA Team has strong ties to the patent community, and benefits from broad and varied perspectives of its attorneys, including those with patent litigation experience and those that have substantial non-patent civil litigation experience. We have experience handling PTAB AIA matters and complex parallel patent proceedings. For example, we have asserted or defended against patents, involving ongoing prosecution, PTO petitions, reexamination and PTAB proceedings, litigation in federal district court, multidistrict litigation, and appeals to the Federal Circuit. Our team also benefits from the advice and perspective of a former PTAB AIA trial judge, and a former technical expert in numerous PTAB AIA matters. With this experience, we can keep our eye on the big picture, and manage the impact of our representation on all related matters.

Claim construction can be a critical issue during PTAB AIA Trials, and with the recent changes in the rules aligning the PTAB AIA Trials with the en banc Federal Circuit’s “Phillips Standard,” it will be important to know how to effectively handle claim construction issues and manage evidence and arguments across multiple related matters. With extensive experience as lead counsel in the Markman/Claim Construction phase of a number of high-stakes matters, we are especially strong in our ability to advocate on claim construction issues.
